Information for Patients

Spine and Orthopedic Specialists : Physical Therapy Building

  • Your first visit will be one hour in length.  Wear or bring loose-fitting comfortable clothes. If we need to examine the lower extremities, wear or bring shorts. If we need to examine your shoulder, please bring or wear a sleeveless shirt.

     
  • The therapist who evaluates you will be the same therapist who will see you at all follow-up visits.

  • The treatment given will depend on the results of the evaluation, but you can expect the focus to be on helping you to understand why you have pain or dysfunction, how exercise and posture can help you. Manual therapy may be used to maximize the benefits of exercise and postural modification.

     
  • Use of physical therapy modalities, such as ultrasound and electric stimulation, are minimal and used only when necessary to facilitate pain relief, strength or movement.

  • Return visits to the clinic are scheduled only as needed.  Recommended frequency of return visits is based on referring physician collaboration, results of initial PT assessment, and your lifestyle. We strive to be flexible and creative in achieving PT goals utilizing a treatment model custom-fit to your needs.

     
  • Your comfort is our first concern.  We provide a clean environment and private treatment rooms.  We listen intently, evaluate thoroughly, and involve you in every phase of your treatment program.

     
  • If referred by a primary care or specialist physician, Craig Weaver help a patient at SOS Physical Therapywe communicate with that physician regularly.  We have close working relationships with many physicians in the region.  If there are any questions concerning your treatment or your condition, we will contact the physician quickly to discuss your care at any time during your treatment at our office.

     
  • Please bring your physician’s prescription for therapy and your insurance cards.
